Chelsea to offer Courtois for goal machine Falcao

Sunday 10 February 2013

With a season of little or no silverware looming, there are reports that Chelsea are ready to break the bank to land goal machine Radamel Falcao.

Radamel Falcao

Spanish sources are indicating the current holders of the UEFA Champions League will offer £55m for the Atletico Madrid attacker plus goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is currently on loan to the UEFA Super Cup winners.

Courtois was signed two years ago by Chelsea, but was loaned out to Atletico straightaway and has become the number one choice at the Vicente Calderon, winning praise from many pundits for his regular consistent performances.

Roman Abramovich is fed up of Fernando Torres’ poor performances, and is looking to cash in on the £50m fee he paid to Liverpool back in January 2011.

Falcao would link up with Demba Ba, who arrived from Newcastle United last month.

Falacao’s goalscoring exploits have seen him find the net 22 times already in La Liga this season, and he has attracted interest from both Manchester City and Real Madrid.
