Arsenal full-back Andre Santos will leave the Gunners on loan as he joins up with Brazilian side Gremio, reports the Daily Mail.

Santos has failed to establish himself in the Arsenal first team this season, making just three league starts, with Kieran Gibbs keeping him out of the side. The January signing of Nacho Monreal from Malaga has meant Santos would find opportunities even harder to come by, and the Brazilian, who signed for £6.8m in the summer of 2011, has been allowed to exit the Emirates.

Santos, 29, made his name with Brazilian side Corinthians, before moving to Fenerbahce in 2009.

The left wing back was forced to apologise publically to his teammates earlier in the season when he was seen asking to swap shirts with former Gunner Robin van Persie at half-time in the clash against Manchester United, with manager Arsene Wenger insisting “Believe me, he will never do it again”.
