Malouda hits out Chelsea

Chelsea outcast Florent Malouda has hit out at his treatment by the club, claiming they are trying to “break him mentally” and promising to tell all when he finally leaves Stamford Bridge, the Daily Mail has reported.

Florent Malouda

Malouda has not played for Chelsea at all this season, having been left out of the Blues’ 25-man squad for the Premier League and, at one point, not being allowed to train with the first team at Chelsea’s Cobham training facility.

The France international was said to be on the verge of a move to Major League Soccer last summer but when the proposed transfer broke down, he was excluded from first team activities by his employers.

Malouda said: “The details I’ll explain when I’m free. But the strategy they use is to make me look like a player seeking substantial compensation. If you are excluded for one year, it is very, very long.

You must be armed mentally. All this is done to break me mentally, but in reality it motivates me enormously.

The 32-year-old joined Chelsea from Lyon in 2007, one of the last signings made by Jose Mourinho, and has made more than 200 appearances for the club.

He last featured for the Chelsea first team in the Champions League final in May, playing the final 15 minutes of normal time and the entirety of extra time as Chelsea beat Bayern Munich, while his last competitive action of any kind came for France against Spain at Euro 2012.
