Luton v Millwall - FA Cup preview and team news

By Adam Mazrani

Saturday 16 February 2013

Luton may look to name an unchanged starting XI from the one that defeated Premier League outfit Norwich City in the last round, as the Hatters bid to become the first non-league side to reach the last eight in 99 years.

FA Cup

The Conference side became the first non-league side to defeat top division opposition away from home in the cup since Altrincham defeated Birmingham City in 1986 and at home to Championship outfit Millwall, will be reasonably confident of reaching their first FA Cup quarter final since 1994.

Paul Buckle looks set to name an unchanged side to the one that took victory at Norwich, meaning that goalscorer Scott Rendell may once again have to make do with a place on the bench. Simon Ainge, Steve McNulty, Dave Martin and Scott Neilson are all cup-tied.

Millwall however will hardly be approaching the clash at Kenilworth Road full of confidence having won only three games in all competitions since New Year’s Day, the latter two coming in the FA Cup.

Kenny Jackett’s men will be without the cup-tied Benik Afobe and Martin Woolford, who have been deemed ineligible by Arsenal and Scunthorpe respectively. Ireland international striker Andy Keogh looks set to come in for Afobe up front alongside Rob Hulse for the Lions.
