Oldham are looking to complete a giant-killing Merseyside double in the FA Cup this season by disposing of Everton at Boundary Park having already knocked out Liverpool in the last round on home soil.

FA Cup

Since then, the Latics’ League 1 form has failed to pick up and the once Premier League side currently lie in the relegation zone, a position that cost manager Paul Dickov, who only two games ago was victorious against the mighty Reds from Anfield, his job. A replacement still has not been found although Tony Philliskirk will be looking to build on their shock 3-1 win over MK Dons last week with yet another cup upset.

Striker Matt Smith, who scored twice against Liverpool in the last round could return for the first time since aggravating a shoulder injury in that much, with fellow forward Robbie Simpson also in contention again.

Visitors Everton are looking to right the wrongs of last season where a tame display cost them their FA Cup semi final victory over Liverpool. Manager David Moyes will also be looking to erase the memory of a famous defeat to Oldham at Goodison Park in the Cup in early 2008.

However, the Scot will be wary of playing too strong a side with the true target of the team being that fourth Champions League place, though Sylvain Distin should overcome fitness again to take his place in the side.

Elsewhere, Victor Anichebe is a doubt after picking up a knock in the 2-0 loss at Manchester United last week and he could keep the out-of-form Nikica Jelavic on the bench once again for the Toffees.
