Barcelona should buy Arsenal's Wilshere, says Alves

Barcelona wing-back Dani Alves has urged his club to bring Arsenal's Jack Wilshere to the Camp Nou, according to Sky Sports.

The Brazilian came up against Wilshere during his country's 2-1 defeat at Wembley earlier this month and was impressed, believing that the Gunners maestro would fit in well in Catalonia.

Alves said: "He is a great player who we have met playing against Arsenal and without doubt he can reach the height of the players we have here at Barcelona like Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta.

"He has a lot of quality and a great personality. If I was given the chance to choose, he is a player that I would sign for Barcelona."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unlikely to be pleased with Alves' comments, as the Frenchman has already seen Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song swap the Emirates Stadium for the Camp Nou in recent years.

Wilshere has been in excellent form for Arsenal since returning to first team action after ankle and knee injuries, and signed a new long-term deal to stay at the north London club back in December.
