Liverpool, Everton and Spurs chase Feyenoord duo

Sunday 24 February 2013

Feyenoord central defenders Stefan de Vrij and Bruno Martins Indi are summer targets for Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham, says the Daily Mirror.

Brendan Rodgers

The Dutch duo have received glowing reports from Premier League scouts this season, sparking mass interest from a host of English top division clubs, who are willing to pay the combined fee of £25million that the pair would cost.

De Vrijj currently captains the Eredivisie side but, in the wake of interest from bigger sides, has told his employers that he is not willing to sign a new deal at the club.

He said: "I want to see what is happening now. I will focus on playing for the club and for Holland, but I won’t sit down with the club now about a new contract."

Martins Indi and de Vrijj have replaced John Heitinga and Joris Mathijsen as the Netherlands' first choice defensive pairing under national team manager Louis Van Gaal.

Each of the interested Premier League parties will be present to assess the targets as Feyenoord take on PSV Eindhoven on Sunday.
