Toure ready to commit to Man City

Sunday 24 February 2013

Manchester City’s midfield linchpin, Yaya Toure is ready to commit his long-term future to the club, according to the Daily Express.

Yaya Toure

The 29-year-old returned from a disappointing tournament for the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations to find the current Premier League champions trailing Manchester United by a mammoth 15 points.

Ahead of this afternoon’s encounter with Chelsea, the African midfielder admitted that he is settled with life in Manchester, and wants to stay at Eastlands for the duration of his career.

He said: “Of course, I’d love to stay at City. I’m here with the guys who love you, the guys who care about you. At City I enjoy my football more because it’s all about more attacking play. At Barcelona and other clubs it was different.

Toure arrived at the Etihad Stadium for £24million from Barcelona in 2010, and has also played in his club career for Olympiakos and AS Monaco.

He has two years left on his current contract, and has become one of the most consistent and high energy level performers in the Premier League.

He scored his first goal back from Africa’s main showpiece last Sunday in the FA Cup fifth round rout against Leeds United.

Toure has scored 16 league goals in his career with Roberto Mancini’s side.
