Middlesbrough v Chelsea - FA Cup preview and team news

Wednesday 27 February 2013

Chelsea look to get back to wining ways when they travel north to face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup 5th round.

The FA Cup

The Blues come into the clash on the back of two games without victory - a 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague, and a 2-0 away defeat to Manchester City last weekend. Chelsea have fallen below Tottenham into 4th position in the Premier League, and will be looking to play themselves into form in Teeside.

Middlesbrough meanwhile are in worse form, recording just two wins in nine, a run that has seen them move down to 7th in the Championship. Last time out they fell at home by two goals to one against Millwall.

Rafa Benitez is set to give Fernando Torres and John Terry starts, after having been benched for the weekend clash with Man City. With Gary Cahill suffering from illness, Terry could take his place, partnering either Branislav Ivanovic or David Luiz. Marko Marin is also set to feature.

'Boro boss Tony Mowbray is without Josh McEachran, who is ineligible as he is on loan from Chelsea - Kieron Dyer and Sammy Ameobi are cup-tied and cannot feature. There is no Lukas Jutkiewicz or Jonathan Woodgate, both out injured, joining Julio Arca and Stuart Parnaby in the treatment room.
