Brendan Rodgers believes Luis Suarez will still be a Liverpool player next season no matter what - even if the club miss out on European football altogether, the Daily Mirror has reported.

A finish of fifth place is needed to ensure Europa League qualification, with sixth potentially enough depending on the identity of the winners of the FA Cup. Liverpool are currently eighth, eight points short of fifth-place Arsenal and three behind local rivals Everton, in sixth.

Rodgers however revealed that a conversation with Suarez’s agent put to rest any lingering doubts of the forward’s future, and praised Suarez for his form throughout the season so far.

There’s no getting away from it, Luis has been brilliant this year, but I haven’t seen anything different that would make me feel he wouldn’t be here,” Rodgers said. “ I had a great conversation with his agent a couple of weeks ago. He came in and rolled it out "progress.

Rodgers added that he looks to Suarez to be the “architect” of his side, the player who makes the tactics come together. This season Suarez has scored 25 goals, and signed a long-term contract at Anfield in 2012.
