Modric happy with Old Trafford performance
Midfielder Luka Modric has declared himself happy with his performance against Manchester United on Tuesday evening, as he helped Real Madrid through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, according to ESPN.co.uk.
The 27-year-old emerged as a second half substitute for Jose Mourinho's men after Nani had been sent off for the home side, who were leading 1-0, and 2-1 on aggregate, at the time.
But Modric's impact from the bench was profound as he found the net with a tremendous strike from 20 yards out to spark a comeback from the Spanish champions, who eventually went through 3-2 on aggregate.
The Croatian playmaker said: "I am very happy about my goal and for helping the team qualify for quarter-finals. I am very happy to help the team qualify. I enjoyed the game. Although we did not play that well in the first half, we scored two goals in the second half and we went through."
The former Tottenham Hotspur man had not tasted victory against Sir Alex Ferguson's side in his four seasons in north London.
