Wednesday 06 March 2013

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will go head-to-head this summer in an attempt to secure the signing of Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie, says the Daily Mirror.

Jordy Clasie

Clasie, dubbed 'the Dutch Xavi', has caught the attention of both north London clubs with a series of dazzling performances in the Eredivisie.

And now the 21-year old, who already has three caps for the Netherlands, could be on the verge of a big move to the Premier League.

Clasie is established in the Feyenoord first team and has made 25 appearances for Ronald Koeman's side this season, scoring on two occasions.

If Tottenham and Arsenal do decide to formalise their interest in the playmaker, it may not be as simple as a two-horse race.

Fiorentina, currently battling for a Champions League place in Italy's Serie A, are also believed to be keen and may well tempt Clasie to Tuscany.
