Interim Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has revealed he will be happy if the Blues finish fourth in the Premier League and qualify for next season’s Champions League, ESPN has reported.

Benitez added that he expects the fans, players and officials at the club to be happy with a top four spot as well, but added that he considers both the FA Cup - which sees Chelsea play Manchester United on Sunday - and the Europa League to be important as well.

Chelsea play Steaua Bucharest in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie on Thursday evening, with the return leg at Stamford Bridge to be played in a week’s time.

Benitez said: “We will try to progress in every competition and the next game is the most important game. Now we are here, to play in the Europa League, we will try to win.

On Sunday we'll be at Old Trafford and afterwards we'll concentrate on West Ham, or whatever. We know that all the competitions are important and if we can finish in the top four, everybody will be happy.

Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League, having recently been overtaken by Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are two points clear of their London rivals, with Chelsea holding a five-point advantage over another London club, Arsenal.
