Carl Jenkinson could become the latest Arsenal player to move to Manchester City as the Premier League champions consider a bid for the England international, the Daily Mirror has reported.

Carl Jenkinson

City are keen to snap up talented young British players, having last summer signed Jack Rodwell from Everton and Scott Sinclair from Swansea City. Jenkinson joined Arsenal - the club he supporters - from Charlton in 2011, with City among the other names mentioned to hold an interest in the defender at the time.

Jenkinson signed a new, long-term Arsenal contract only recently but with the Gunners expected to sell Bacary Sagna this summer and sign a right-back to replace the Frenchman, Jenkinson could be on the market too if he is passed over for the first-choice right-back spot.

If he was to make the move to the Etihad Stadium, Jenkinson would join a parade of former Arsenal players, including Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Kolo Toure.

Emmanuel Adebayor also made the trip north, returning to London with Tottenham Hotspur, while former Arsenal midfielders David Platt and Patrick Vieira work at City in a coaching and administrative capacity respectfully.
