Chelsea have attempted to take Dulwich Hamlet teenager Daniel Carr from under the noses of Liverpool after Carr spent time training at the Merseyside club, only for Chelsea to contact Carr’s current side directly to attempt to arrange a deal, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea and Liverpool playing earlier in the season

Carr is said to be much in-demand, with 14 clubs making enquiries of the 18-year-old, who has scored 23 goals in 23 games for the Ryman Division One South side. Both Manchester United and Manchester City are thought to have registered an interest in Carr, formerly of Reading.

A move to Charlton Athletic fell apart when Dulwich and the Addicks could not agree terms, while a trial at Leeds proved unsuccessful, the newspaper adds. Carr is said to be undecided as to where his future lies while Dulwich would prefer he remained at their club until the end of the season as they chase promotion to the next tier.
