Norwich v Southampton - Match preview and team news

Saturday 09 March 2013

Norwich are looking to continue their unbeaten home record in 2013 against a Southampton side that after initially impressing under new coach Mauricio Pochettino, are just beginning to slide back into relegation trouble once again.

Carrow Road

Chris Hughton’s side may have taken a beating at the hands of champions-elect Manchester United at Old Trafford last week but at Carrow Road, the Canaries have been water-tight so far this year, with their last encounter seeing them score two dramatic late goals to see off Champions League-chasing Everton.

Hughton may hand on-loan striker Kei Kamara a debut start for the club alongside Grant Holt after impressing in recent weeks as a substitute. Goalkeeper John Ruddy is slowly making his way closer to a first-team return but Andrew Surman is expected to miss the rest of the season following a knee operation.

Southampton have captain Adam Lallana fit to start after the midfielder suffered concussion in the poor defeat at home to QPR last weekend. That loss leaves the Saints just three points above the drop zone, albeit with a superior goal difference to all the clubs around them by some distance.

Pochettino faces a decision at left-back with both Luke Shaw and Danny Fox fit after suffering from thigh problems, while Gaston Ramirez and Jason Puncheon are also fighting for inclusion after finding themselves on the sidelines in recent weeks .
