Juventus lining up swoop for Arsenal's Podolski

Tuesday 12 March 2013

Juventus are lining up a £15m bid for Arsenal's Lukas Podolski, reports the Daily Mail.

Lukas Podolski

The German international’s recent action in north London has been limited by Arsene Wenger, and has been left on the bench for the Gunners last three Premier League encounters.

Signed from Cologne last summer for nearly £11m, Podolski has found the target 13 times in all competitions, part of Wenger’s attempt to replace the cutting edge that Robin van Persie provided before he moved to Manchester United.

Serie A champions Juve could be about to offer Podolski an exit route out of the Emirates Stadium, and have the resources available to tempt him away from England. He currently earns £100,000 a week at Arsenal.

His last strike came in the 3-1 Champions League first leg defeat to Bayern Munich in mid-February, but looks set to miss the return at the Allianz Arena through injury on Wednesday night.

Wenger is already without Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczesny for the game against the runaway Bundesliga leaders.
