Queens Park Rangers first team coach Joe Jordan believes the club's January signings have enabled them to launch a bid for an unlikely escape from Premier League relegation, says Sky Sports.

Jordan says that QPR needed more experience and ability to pull themselves away from the drop zone, sparking the signings of Loic Remy, Chris Samba, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas in the transfer window.

Those recruits have helped lift Harry Redknapp's side within four points of 17th-placed Aston Villa, raising hopes of a great escape.

Jordan said: "Chris has come in and been exceptional. It's no surprise his performances keep improving. He just needed games.

"The two lads from Spurs have also been great for us. Jermaine has come in and his experience is key. He's not only a very good player, but he has a good head on him and is a great person to have about the club."

"Loic will always get you goals. He's a fine finisher and has already shown why we were so keen to bring him to the club in January."

The west London club continue their campaign with a visit to fellow strugglers Villa on Saturday, with just nine games left to play of the season.
