Zenit lining up Man City boss Mancini

Big-spending Zenit St Petersburg are ready to swoop for Roberto Mancini's services should the Manchester City manager be sacked this summer, according to Daily Mirror.

Mancini is rumoured to be under pressure at City, with the club sitting 12 points behind leaders Manchester United in the Premier League and having exited Europe at an early stage.

But Russian side Zenit are keen on securing the Italian as boss if City's owners decide that he doesn't have a future at the Etihad Stadium.

Luciano Spalletti's Zenit were expected to impress both domestically and in Europe this season, having spent a combined £64m on Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel and Brazilian forward Hulk in the summer.

But the campaign has not gone to plan with the Russian champions, like City, going out of the Champions League at the first hurdle.

They are still in the Europa League, but are currently third in the Russian Premier League meaning Spalletti's job, like his compatriot Mancini's, is under threat.
