Ibrahimovic re-united with Barcelona in Champions League draw

Friday 15 March 2013

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be hoping to haunt his former employers after Paris Saint-Germain drew Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the BBC has reported.

The Swedish striker, who spent four seasons at Camp Nou, will be suspended for the first leg of the fixture but will return for the second leg in Spain.

The meeting between the cash-flush Parisians and Tito Villanova's side sees a repeat of the 1997 European Cup Winner's Cup Final, which Barcelona won 1-0. The pairing means there will be no El Clasico in the immediate future, with Real Madrid instead being drawn against surprise package Galatasaray.

That fixture will see former Chelsea legends Jose Mourinho and Didier Drogba reunited for the first time since the Portuguese manager left Stamford Bridge in 2007.

Meanwhile German giants Bayern Munich will play Juventus, in what is arguably the most mouth-watering tie of the draw.

The runaway Bundesliga leaders edged past Arsenal in the last round but have been in scintillating form this season, while Antonio Conte's Old Lady also top their own domestic league, Serie A.

In the other quarter-final match-up, Malaga's prize for seeing off Porto in the last 16 is a fixture against Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund - many pundits' dark horses for the competition.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will take place on April 2 and 3, with the return matches scheduled for April 9 and 10.

Champions League quarter-final draw in full:

Malaga v Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid v Galatasaray

Paris Saint-Germain v Barcelona

Bayern Munich v Juventus
