Everton vs Man City - Match preview and team news

Saturday 16 March 2013

Everton look to make it four wins out of four home matches against Manchester City and effectively end the reigning champions’ attempt to haul in league leaders Manchester United.

Goodison Park

The Toffees were poor in last weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final with Wigan and rumours of David Moyes leaving the club in the summer, after 11 years at the helm, have continued.

Moyes is still without first-choice goalkeeper Tim Howard, so Jan Mucha will deputise. Phil Jagielka is still suffering with an ankle problem, so John Heitinga will keep his place in central defence.

City strolled past Barnsley last weekend to set up a potential semi-final clash with United, if they can overcome Chelsea in a replay. Roberto Mancini’s side are beginning to find form and must win to keep their slim title chances alive.

Captain Vincent Kompany will sit out his eighth successive match with his calf injury and Mancini is also without striker Sergio Aguero and midfielder Jack Rodwell, due to knee and hamstring injuries.
