Stoke vs West Brom - Match preview and team news

Saturday 16 March 2013

Stoke look to snap their three game losing streak and grab a vital victory over West Brom, who have lost four of their last five away games this season.

Britannia Stadium

The Potters have the worst points record in the top-flight in 2013, grabbing just four points from nine games. Tony Pulis’ side were cruelly beaten in the last minute by Newcastle last weekend, but they could move into the top half with victory at the Britannia Stadium.

Matthew Etherington could miss a third successive game with a back problem and Cameron Jerome is unlikely to start, having injured his knee against the Magpies last week. Robert Huth completes his suspension this weekend.

West Brom have amassed 43 points so far this season, their best points record at this stage in the top-flight. Steve Clarke’s first season as manager has seen the Baggies remain in the top half all season and hit the dizzy heights of third in November, before tailing off down the table.

The Baggies could still be without striker Shane Long, who is doubtful with the ankle problem that kept him out of the win over Swansea. Steven Reid is struggling with a groin injury.
