Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas believes his side will rediscover their best form before the end of the season after suffering two consecutive defeats in their last two Premier League games, ESPN has reported.

Spurs lost at White Hart Lane to Fulham on Sunday, the only goal of the game scored by former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov, and were beaten 3-2 at Anfield a week earlier. The two league defeats sandwiched a 4-1 loss to Inter in the Europa League, with Spurs progressing to the next stage of the competition on away goals having won 3-0 at home in the first leg.

The loss to Fulham saw Chelsea go back above Spurs into third place in the league table, while Arsenal’s victory over Swansea means the Gunners are now four points behind their north London rivals with a game in hand.

Villas-Boas said: “We can't hide from what has happened in the past but must make sure we avoid it again. It's been a difficult month. But if we can find our form again, our confidence, our wins, then we can stop that cycle. We just have to carry on fighting and work hard.

I'm confident we can do it. It's not a factor in the psychology of the players and the most important thing is we've enough games left to stop it happening and get out of this situation.

Villas-Boas pointed to Tottenham’s next two league games - away at Swansea and at home to Everton - as crucial to the team’s season, suggesting that if they record maximum points from those fixtures they can think about not just third or fourth place, but potentially second.
