Manchester United will this summer resume their interest in Porto midfielder James Rodriguez, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson willing to offer Anderson as part of the deal to bring the Columbia international to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.

James Rodriguez

Luis Nani is another player who could be offered to the Portuguese giants in exchange for the winger, but Anderson, who left Porto for United in 2008, has previously admitted he would be open to a return to the Estadio do Dragao. The Mail believes the Brazilian will indeed return to Porto this summer after struggling to earn a regular place in United’s team.

Rodriguez has a release clause in his contract of £36m, having had the price increased recently from £24m, with United looking for ways they can tempt Porto into a deal. Rodriguez moved to Portugal from Argentinean club Banfield, having begun his career in his native country at Envigado.
