Lindegaard considering Man Utd exit
Anders Lindegaard has admitted he might have to leave Manchester United in order to get regular first team football after falling behind David De Gea in the pecking order, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Dane has played only once for the Red Devils since the beginning of December, with his Spanish teammate De Gea establishing himself as first choice under Sir Alex Ferguson. He has made only 11 appearances in the whole of the campaign having previously taken the gloves on a regular basis last season, until injury allowed De Gea to come back into the side.
Lindegaard added he does not begrudge De Gea his place, but said: “For me at the moment it’s not easy deal being on the bench when the team is performing as well as we do. And, of course, when David is also performing as well as he does and has been doing in the last couple of months.
“Of course, everybody wants to play and I’m not different from anyone else. I’m sure all the players who are not in the starting line-up every game would say the same and they want to play.
“That’s how football players are. It’s a genetic thing in us - we live for the thrill of playing and the adrenaline you get when you step out on the pitch.”
Lindegaard moved to United from Aalesund in January 2011 and has played 24 times for the current Premier League leaders.
