Man City and Chelsea have been put on alert after mutual transfer target Isco cast doubt over his future at Champions League quarter finalists Malaga, according to ESPN.

Isco

The 20-year-old is seen as something of a sensation after having an outstanding season so far, and earned his first cap for reigning world champions Spain in February.

His impressive performances have earned admirers from several of Europe’s top clubs including the aforementioned Premier League rivals, as well as Real Madrid.

Last week, The Daily Star linked Arsenal with a £30m swoop for the starlet, stating that initial talks had already taken place.

Speaking to El Pais, the attacking midfielder admitted that Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has been instrumental in his development, but refused to rule out a switch to one of Europe’s elite.

When asked about his future at Malaga, he said: “Nobody knows. I am here now, tomorrow we'll see.

"I've been a Malaga fan since I was small. I was a junior club member before I left for Valencia, and I am very happy to be here now and learning a lot. We will see what happens next. It is not something that [concerns] me a lot right now. I am enjoying my life at the moment.

"I arrived here aged 19, just a boy. I know I am only at the beginning in football. Pellegrini tells me just to play my football, to get on the ball and link up with my teammates. He has given me all the confidence in the world.”

Isco joined Malaga in July 2011 when the club activated his €6m buyout clause, and he has made 56 appearances, netting 13 goals.
