Chelsea close to sealing Schurrle transfer
Chelsea are on the verge of sealing the signing of German forward Andre Schurrle in a deal believed to be worth 22m euros, according to ESPN.
The Bayern Leverkusen man has long been courted by the Premier League side, with the Blues having had an offer turned down for him last summer.
But now it appears that the 22-year-old will be heading to Stamford Bridge, with Leverkusen officials travelling to London on Friday to put the finishing touches on the deal, which with the player's wages included could be worth around 50 million euros.
Earlier this month, Leverkusen's general manager Rudi Voller said: "That we should consider the offer is all part of business. It is all in our hands."
Meanwhile, it is believed that the Bundesliga side will look to replace Schurrle with Chelsea's young Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.
De Bruyne has impressed on loan at Werder Bremen this season and several other German sides are interested in securing his services, but Rafael Benitez's side are believed to be more keen on another temporary deal for the ex-Genk man.
