Tottenham striker Adebayor criticises Man City team spirit

Emmanuel Adebayor believes the poor team spirit at his former club Manchester City will play into Tottenham Hotspur's hands when the sides meet in the Premier League on Sunday, according to the Daily Mirror.

Adebayor moved to City from Arsenal in 2009, spending a year on loan at Spurs before completing a permanent move to White Hart Lane last summer, and feels that if Tottenham get on top in the match, it will lead to rows among the City players and give Andre Villas-Boas’ side the advantage.

We are playing in front of our fans, so we will give it everything,” Adebayor said. “We will put them under pressure, and then for sure we will have a chance to win. I was there [at City], and whenever things are not going their way there will definitely be a fight or an argument on the pitch - and that is how we can take them down.

A Tottenham victory would give City’s rivals Manchester United the chance to wrap up the league title on Monday evening when they host Aston Villa at Old Trafford, as well as put Spurs into a promising position to seal a top four place and with it, Champions League football.

As it stands, Spurs are two points behind fourth-placed Arsenal but have a game in hand, to come in the final week of the season against Chelsea - who are also striving to seal Champions League qualification for next season.

The weekend’s fixtures see the Blues travel to Anfield to play Liverpool while Arsenal go to Fulham. Everton, the third side in contention for the Champions League, are also away from home, travelling to Wearside to play Sunderland.
