Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies is considering a move to Major League Soccer after discussions with Toronto, according to Sky Sports.

Kevin Davies

The 36-year-old, whose career began with Chesterfield back in 1993, has been told that he will not be receiving a new contract with Bolton at the end of this season making him a free agent. Sky have reported that Davies has held talks with Toronto manager Ryan Nelsen and that Toronto are hopeful a deal can be made. The only issue to be resolved, according to Sky is whether Davies will be able to move straight away or only at the end of the season.

The veteran striker, a once-capped England international in a European qualifier against Montenegro in 2010, has spent the last 10 seasons at the Reebok Stadium. He scored in the 2004 League Cup Final for the Trotters in defeat to Middlesbrough and was made the Lancashire club's captain in 2009.

Bolton are currently in a strong position for a play-off place in the Championship, which could possibly mean that Davies may not be able to move to Toronto until after the Championship play-off final on May 27th.
