Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini fears he may miss out on a reunion with midfielder Isco at the Etihad Stadium, with the 21-year-old turning his head toward Real Madrid, according to The Guardian.

Isco is high on new gaffer Pellegrini’s wishlist, and said he would make a decision following his holiday regarding whether to sign for Real or go with Pellegrini to City.

It is also thought that the player’s decision could now arrive within the next 24 hours, after the player revealed that he had a straight decision to make between the two clubs.

Newspaper AS, which is close to Real Madrid, claimed that the youngster would sign for the club in a £25.5m five-year deal, in news that would offer a significant blow to City's new chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain.

City, however, still hold hopes that Isco’s good relationship with Pellegrini from their time together at Malaga may mean that the coveted midfielder would choose the Premier League over La Liga.

Isco himself said of Pellegrini recently: “He is a great coach who has done some impressive work at Málaga, as he did at other clubs, and I am sure things will go well for him [in England].

“It's true that I know Pellegrini already, I know how he works and he has been fundamental in my career during the two years I have been at Málaga with him. It's a point in favour that we worked together and that I know how he works but it's not definitive.

“I am going to take a holiday, which I need, and then decide my future.”
