Lampard deserves England landmark, believes Chelsea teammate Cole

Ashley Cole has claimed that his Chelsea and England teammate Frank Lampard wholly deserves his 100th international cap. Lampard is in line to feature for the Three Lions against Ukraine in Kiev on Tuesday night, and in doing so the Blues talismanic midfielder will enter the famous 100 club.
Sky Sports are reporting that Cole, who passed the landmark earlier this year, said: “I think it’s a massive achievement. If there was anyone left who deserved 100 caps its Frank.” The Chelsea left-back also revealed that Lampard is looking forward to reaching the landmark.
Lampard, 35, has been in good form for Chelsea as well this season, scoring once in his first six appearances. The Blues stalwart has netted 29 times in his international career, and joins the likes of David Beckham, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Peter Shilton, Billy Wright and Steven Gerrard in the centurions list.
Lampard’s 100th cap means that Roy Hodgson’s squad for the Ukraine trip features three players in three figures, with Gerrard and Cole also travelling to Kiev.
