Cazorla cannot understand why Real Madrid let Ozil join Arsenal

Santi Cazorla is at a loss to explain why Real Madrid were willing to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal, the Guardian has reported, but the Spain international is pleased that the Gunners were able to sign the Germany playmaker.
Ozil could make his Arsenal debut this weekend as Arsene Wenger’s side visit Sunderland, having completed a £43m move to the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day. Ozil was allowed to leave the Santiago Bernabeu once Madrid completed the signing of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur and Cazorla is relishing the chance to link up with the 24-year-old.
Cazorla told Spanish publication Marca: “I am very happy that Ozil is here. He is a spectacular player and we are very lucky we are going to learn alongside him.
“I don't understand that [why Real Madrid sold him], he is a unique player. You will have to ask the club for reasons why they sold them, but at the same time he didn't think he was getting the opportunities he deserved and luckily he has come to us.”
Cazorla also feels that Ozil will have little trouble settling in at his new club, nor adapting to the rigours of his new division. “He is an important player and he is going to be very good for the team and the way we play,” Cazorla added. “I hope he can help us fight against the big teams in the Premier League.”
