Arsenal vs Stoke - Premier League preview and team news
Arsenal will be looking to make it seven straight wins when they take on Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
There has been renewed optimism among Arsenal supporters since the arrival of Mesut Ozil on transfer deadline day, and the German has been quick to make a positive impact. However, it is the form of Aaron Ramsey that has caught the eye most. The 22-year-old has scored three very important goals in two games to secure vital wins domestically, and in Europe.
Stoke have made a good start themselves under new boss Mark Hughes, and they were unlucky not to take all three points at home to Manchester City last time out. Much has been made of the change in approach, but the players have adapted well, and seven points from a possible 12 is a decent return.
One concern for Arsenal is the number of injuries that they are being forced to contend with. Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla are notable absentees, while Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are still missing. Tomas Rosicky is also unlikely to feature.
Mark Hughes might hand a first start to Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic, and loanee Stephen Ireland. Another summer signing, Marc Muniesa, is definitely out.
