Negredo delighted with Man City move
Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo has said that while he was happy at former club Sevilla, he is delighted with his experience of the Premier League so far, Sky Sports has reported.
Negredo moved to the Etihad Stadium this summer in a £20m deal and scored twice in his first three games under newly-appointed boss Manuel Pellegrini. And Negredo has not been taken aback by English football, insisting it is everything he expected it to be. “I was very happy in Seville but I'm pleased with the move I made,” he said. “I feel good over here and I feel I have adapted well to the English game, I really like it.
“It's just what I was expecting - a lot of coming and going, the players have so much quality that they can keep the ball, you have to keep on running. It's very intense but I am happy, it's to my tastes and hopefully I will keep getting better,” the Spain international added.
Negredo has also formed a promising partnership with Sergio Aguero and feels the pair can continue to impress if they are given the chance to play together regularly. “I really enjoyed playing with him, he's very talented,” Negredo said. “The way he controls the ball, the things he can do with it... he has amazing technique. I hope to continue to play with him in this team.”
The more physical nature of English football has not troubled Negredo, known in Spain as the Beast, and he reveals he relishes that side of being a Premier League centre-forward. “I always enjoy a physical battle. (Nemanja) Vidic is a very strong player, very aggressive but I enjoyed that sort of contact with an opponent.
“As long as opponents play fair it's not a problem to me because I'm always ready for the challenge.”
