Rose set for Spurs return against Chelsea
Tottenham left-back Danny Rose is expected to return to action against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea on Saturday after overcoming his toe injury, reports The Daily Mirror.
After spending time out on loan at four Football League clubs over the past four years, the Spurs full-back is now looking to establish himself in the manager’s first team plans.
Andre Villas-Boas expressed his delight at the prospect of having Rose back in contention: “He gives us more options and the depth that he provides down the flank is excellent.”
Speaking ahead of the game the Spurs boss added: “We’re solid at the back but Saturday will be a completely different proposition because we’re playing a team who will be looking to create a lot of chances.”
Elsewhere, defender Younes Kaboul is doubtful with an abductor complaint, and Etienne Capoue remains sidelined with the ankle injury he suffered against Arsenal earlier in the season.
Spurs will also give winger Aaron Lennon a fitness test today while striker Emmanuel Adebayor is out through illness.
