Real Madrid to make £45m January bid for Liverpool's Suarez
Real Madrid are set to offer £45m in an attempt to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in the January transfer window, according to ESPN.
Suarez announced during the summer that he would have pushed for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu if the chance arrived, but despite speculation that Real Madrid were after the Uruguayan, the only bids came from Arsenal, both of which were swiftly rejected.
Despite Suarez publically announcing his desire to move in the summer for a Champions League club, he has been reintegrated into the Liverpool side and has impressed in his previous two games following his return from a 10-match ban, scoring twice in Sunday’s 3-1 victory away to Sunderland.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has previously said that they would not be making new signings in January, but the Sun reports that an offer for Suarez is being prepared. A source close to Suarez, quoted by the newspaper, said: “It is possible Luis could end up at Real. We expect Real to present a formal offer in December.”
