Tottenham to return to pursuit of Blackpool's Ince
According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are to renew their interest in Blackpool winger Thomas Ince, and are considering a £4m bid in January.
Tottenham made a late attempt to sign Ince in the summer, but that failed after it was decided that the 21-year-old should remain at Blackpool and see out his contract, which expires at the end of the current season. Ince previously rejected the chance to join Cardiff City earlier on in the summer.
Andre Villas-Boas’ side do plan to return with an improved offer in January, as Blackpool would be due compensation when Ince turns 22. Tottenham are growing more confident that they could be able to get Ince for £4m, but there is interest from Italy, with Serie A giants Juventus, Napoli and Inter all monitoring the situation.
The England U-21 international is more likely to stay in England, however, and Tottenham face competition from Premier League rivals Everton, Newcastle United and Swansea City.
Ince came through the Liverpool academy, but only managed 15 minutes of action for the first-team. He was allowed to join Blackpool in the summer of 2011, and has since gone on to excel, scoring 30 goals in 96 appearances, including four in eight games so far this season, under his father, Paul.
