Hull v Aston Villa - Premier League preview and team news
Two sides nestled comfortably together in mid table face each other in what promises to be an entertaining game at the KC Stadium with Hull taking on Aston Villa.
Hull are continuing to impress this season, and boast seven points from nine at home, conceding just one goal. These are very encouraging stats for the Tigers and will be great building blocks for their fight for survival this season. Fans will be weary of the last time they made a good start however - they suffered just one defeat in nine games in their last return to the top flight before winning just two more all season. But there seems to be solidity under Steve Bruce, and they should continue to impress at home.
Just one point behind their opponents are Aston Villa. They have produced two of the surprise results of the season so far, having beaten Arsenal in their own back yard before turning over Manchester City last week. While home form has been lacking, Villa are very comfortable on the road - they have won five of their last eight away, losing just two. They are suited to the fast counter attacking football and will continue to do well away from Villa Park this season.
Leading scorer for Hull Robbie Brady will miss the clash after a hernia operation and will be replaced by either Stephan Quinn or George Boyd. Robert Koren and James Chester continue to be absent, but Paul McShane is fit again.
Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Westwood should return for Villa having missed games through respective ankle and thigh injuries. Christian Benteke is recovering well from a hip problem but this game comes too quickly for the Belgium.
