Henderson praises potential of Liverpool strike partnership Sturridge and Suarez
Midfielder Jordan Henderson believes that the newly-restored Liverpool strike partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez has plenty to offer as the Reds target a place in the Premier League’s top four, Sky Sports.
Suarez has shown impressive form since returning from a 10-match suspension, scoring three goals in three games, while Sturridge has already scored eight goals in nine games this season, making it 19 goals from 25 outings for the England international since he joined from Chelsea in January.
The duo were once again on target in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield, a result which sees them level on points with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League after seven games. And Henderson, who has started all of those matches, thinks that there is more to come from both.
He said: “They are fantastic. Their link-up play and one-twos was brilliant and they do that all the time in training. Hopefully they can keep working on that, keep improving and keep getting the goals. If that's the case and they haven't played that much then they can get even better.
“They played a couple more before Luis got the ban but Luis has come back in and they've fitted together perfectly. They know where each other's going to be and they've been outstanding.”
