Arsenal’s Flamini set to miss out against Dortmund
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that midfielder Mathieu Flamini is a major doubt for his side’s Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, Sky Sports is reporting.
The Frenchman was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City in the Premier League after suffering from concussion. Since rejoining the club in August, Flamini has played a large role in helping the Gunners top the table with 19 points from a possible 24, solidifying the midfield.
Discussing the injury to Flamini, Wenger said: "He had concussion. He had double vision, so on the advice of the doctor I took him off because I did not want to take any gamble. I don't know if he'll be available for Dortmund, it depends now what the doctors will decide. Sometimes they are not allowed to play for five days, it depends how big the concussion was."
Arsenal take on Dortmund at the Emirates Stadium having won their opening two Champions League games against Marseille and Napoli, and overall they have gone 12 games without defeat, since the opening day reverse to Aston Villa.
