Tottenham boss Villas-Boas considering sending Kane away on loan
Tottenham Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas is currently debating Harry Kane’s next career step, having considered a loan move for the young striker, writes Sky Sports.
Kane, 20, scored a hat-trick for England Under-21s against San Marino earlier in the month, but with Tottenham’s long list of attacking options, Villas-Boas has contemplated sending the forward out on loan.
With spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester under his belt, Kane is currently being assessed by the Spurs boss to help the 20-year-old progress.
“At the moment what I've been speaking to Harry about is that we are studying the possibility of him going out on loan as well - but we are happy for him to try to compete for his place, and so is he,” Villas-Boas said.
“We have lots of options up front and he understands that, but he is happy to continue to push for his place. He has been given that opportunity because he has been excellent in training, so we believe a lot in his future.
“We can't have a loan situation that does not work for him, like the ones that we have had before. That's why we have been very cautious with his next step, and we have not been in a rush in that situation. Why haven't the loans worked before? Because he didn't play,” he added.
Kane has represented England at Under-17, 19, 20 and 21 level, and has scored at each age group. The forward has made just one appearance for Tottenham so far this season, along with a single appearance in the League Cup.
Kane’s spell at Millwall during the 2011-12 season was arguably his most successful, having scored nine times in 27 appearances for the Championship club.
