Man Utd got lucky with penalty decision, admits Round

Manchester United assistant manager Steve Round admitted his team were lucky to be awarded an early penalty during their Capital One Cup match with Norwich City, Sky Sports has reported.
Referee Kevin Friend awarded the spot kick in the 20th minute after a clash between Leroy Fer and Adnan Januzaj, described as “innocuous” by Sky Sports. Javier Hernandez converted from 12 yards and set United on course for a 4-0 victory, with Hernandez later bagging a second goal.
Also on target were Phil Jones and Fabio as United recorded a comfortable win to move into the next round of the competition, but Round admitted that the first goal came about in fortunate circumstances.
“I didn't look like a penalty to me, it looked like he slipped over, and it was very harsh on Norwich,” Round said. “In the end I suppose it didn't really matter because the other goals made it comprehensive.”
Round added that he felt Hernandez was dangerous throughout the game and praised his innate knack for scoring goals. “(Hernandez) is an infectious player. He loves to score, we see it every day in training when he buzzes around the place,” Round sad. “ He had a good chance at the death with a header to make it three and get his hat-trick, but I'm sure he'll take two and move onto the next game.”
Hernandez, meanwhile, was reluctant to comment on the penalty itself, insisting that he was only concerned with putting the ball in the back of the net. “I don't want to speak about the referee,” Hernandez said. “They are human, they are like us, we can miss a pass, they can miss a decision. I don't know if it was correct or not because I didn't see it. The referee gave it and I took the penalty and thankfully the ball went in.”
The victory means United are still in with a chance of winning the League Cup for the first time since the 2009-10 season. It would be United’s fifth League Cup if they were victorious in the competition, with the first coming in 1991-92.
