Michu to miss next two Swansea games
Swansea City will be without Michu for at least their next two matches after the Spain international suffered an ankle injury in the south Wales derby defeat to Cardiff City, Club Call has reported.
Michu suffered the injury in the second-half of the 1-0 loss and had to be replaced by Wilfried Bony shortly after Steven Caulker gave Cardiff the lead. Caulker, who spent last season on loan at Swansea from Tottenham Hotspur, converted a corner to hand the Bluebirds victory in the first-ever top flight meeting of the sides.
While Michu’s injury is not said to be serious he will miss the Europa League trip to Kuban Krasnodar and the Premier League fixture with Stoke City. The international break then intervenes and manager Michael Laudrup predicted Michu could return to action in the game that follows, against Fulham.
Swansea are currently 13th in the league table with 11 points from 10 games. Cardiff’s win allowed the capital city side to leapfrog the Swans, with Laudrup’s team three points clear of the bottom three.
