West Brom vs Man City - Premier League preview and team news

By Stephen Donovan

Wednesday 04 December 2013

Manchester City will be looking for only their second away victory of the season when they travel to the West Midlands on Wednesday evening.

West Bromwich Albion will be hugely disappointed at only taking one point from their previous two games, with Aston Villa making a unlikely comeback to take a point from the Hawthorns, before a superb strike from Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko saw them leave Tyneside with nothing. Despite that being only their second defeat in 10 games, the Baggies are only five points clear of the bottom three.

Since their shock defeat at Sunderland before the international break, Man City have racked up 13 more home goals in all competitions, as they continue to score plenty at the Etihad Stadium, where they have a 100% record in the league. However, things have been different away from home, and their current tally of four points from a possible 18 must be improved upon if they are to regain the title.

Boaz Myhill will continue in goal for West Brom, although regular first-choice Ben Foster is nearing a return. The hosts will also be without combative midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu, who has picked up five yellow cards.

Man City have named Vincent Kompany in the squad for this game, meaning the captain could return after two months out. They are, however, still without Matija Nastasic, Stevan Jovetic and David Silva.
