Chelsea are set to hold talks with Thibaut Courtois regarding his long-term future, with the stopper yet to play a match in the Premier League, writes Sky Sports.

Thibaut Courtois

The 21-year-old goalkeeper is currently enjoying his third-consecutive season on loan at Atletico Madrid, and has been attracting interest from Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Consistent performances have seen Coutois develop into one of the best young goalkeepers in the world, but his future is in doubt at Chelsea having signed for the club in 2011 and not playing a single game for the Blues.

"I don't know where I will be playing next season," he said.

"In a short time, I will discuss my future with Chelsea and I want to know their plans. After those discussions, I will decide what will be the best option for me. I don't want to wait too long, it's not good to begin a World Cup while you're thinking about transfers. I don't want to wait until May or June.

"I'm not worried at his moment and I hope I wont be worried at all the next months."

Courtois arrived at Stamford Bridge from Genk on a five-year deal, but has found it impossible to break into the first team due to Petr Cech’s established reign in between the sticks.

The Belgian ‘keeper has been Atletico Madrid’s first choice in goal since his first loan spell during the 2011-12 season, where he made 37 appearances consecutively and has already made 15 appearances this season for the La Liga outfit.

Courtois has won the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Copa del Rey with Atletico.
