Liverpool eye up Burnley striker Ings
Wednesday 04 December 2013
Burnley striker Danny Ings' performances have reportedly put some Premier League clubs on alert as the January transfer window approaches, the Guardian has reported.
Ings is currently second top scorer in the Championship with 11 goals to his name so far this term, and has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Sam Vokes that has seen Burnley start the season in fantastic form and they sit third in the table.
His form has not gone unnoticed though, and the 21-year-old is reportedly attracting interest from several Premier League clubs including Liverpool - who are looking for back up for the currently injured Daniel Sturridge.
The striker started his career at south coast club Bournemouth, and his form with the Cherries lead to a move to Championship side Burnley in 2011, for a fee believed to be in the region of £1 million.
Injuries have hampered his career at Turf Moor but he has started the season in fine form this time around and his performances led to an international call up to the England under 21 squad in November and he scored twice in his second cap.
Burnley are currently third in the Championship having made a tremendous start under Sean Dyche and are just two points off the automatic promotion places ahead of their home game against relegation threatened Barnsley this Saturday.
