Premier League Round 15 Predictions

Bookmark and Share

By Henry Chard

Friday 06 December 2013

Following a full round of midweek fixtures in the Premier League that produced plenty of goals, the action keeps on coming with another full programme of fixtures this weekend.

The biggest tie of the weekend is the clash between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates this Sunday. Arsene Wenger's side have been in imperious form this season and are the team to beat, sitting nicely at the top of the table with a four point gap. Everton have also started the season in fine form too, only tasting defeat once, and coming off the back of a victory at Old Trafford will be full of confidence heading to the capital.

Arsenal will be looking to continue their good home form to extend their lead at the top as we head into the festive period but Everton have shown they are more than capable of getting a result against the top teams. It will be a tight affair and you would get better odds on a draw from Sports Book Review.

Following a defeat midweek that ended their unbeaten run, champions Manchester United will be looking to get back on track against a Newcastle side who also lost their unbeaten run in midweek. The Red Devils trail Arsenal by 12 points at this early stage and cannot afford to let the gap increase anymore, so will be fully focused on a home win to get them up and running again.

Southampton face a tough home tie against Manchester City who seem to be finding their feet on the road after a win at West Brom. The Saints have been on a poor run since their fantastic rise to the top end of the table and will find it tough to get back to winning ways against a rejuvenated City side who are hunting down leaders Arsenal. Southampton proved too good for some of the big boys at St. Mary's last season and you wouldn't rule them out this time around either.

At the bottom a crucial game at Selhurst Park as Crystal Palace take on Cardiff. Pulis has breathed new life into the Eagles and a win would put them right back in the mix to stay up. Cardiff will be looking for a win to open up the gap between them and the bottom three, a draw looks a good bet. Fulham will be hoping to end a dismal run of form as they welcome Aston Villa. The Cottagers have been woeful at home this season whilst Villa's counter attacking style works very well on the road and it could be another away win for them.

Elsewhere Liverpool look set to record two home wins in a week as they take on lowly West Ham, and Chelsea should be too good for a Stoke side struggling this term. Spurs will look to make it a good week but may have to settle for a point at an ever improving Sunderland side.
