Swansea vs Hull - Premier League preview and team news

Monday 09 December 2013

Two sides who were in the fourth tier just 10 years ago, Swansea City and Hull City, meet on Monday in a Premier League mid-table clash.

Liberty Stadium

Swansea are looking for their third home win of the season here having secured the second on Wednesday with a convincing victory over Newcastle United, despite playing without a recognised striker for much of the game.

Manager Michael Laudrup will be hoping that his team can show more consistency than thet have done previously this season, and that midfielder Jonjo Shelvey can continue from where he left off against the Magpies.

Three points from two extremely tough games against Liverpool and Arsenal will have been satisfactory for Hull boss Steve Bruce, whose years of Premier League experience are undoubtedly proving helpful in their survival bid, although the goings on concerning the club’s proposed name change have arguably received more publicity than the football.

Alvaro Vazquez is out for Swansea, but the hosts are hopeful over the fitness of Wilfried Bony and Miguel Michu after they both trained on Sunday.

Hull will be boosted by the return of captain Curtis Davies from a one-match ban, but they will be without Paul McShane and Stephen Quinn.
