On-loan Hull striker Danny Graham is keen to repay the faith shown in him by Tigers boss Steve Bruce, admitting he is unsure regarding his future at parent club Sunderland, writes The Mirror.

Graham revealed he is yet to hear from Sunderland boss Poyet since the Uruguayan took charge at the Stadium of Light two months ago, but says he is happy at Hull under the guidance of former Black Cats boss Bruce.

Graham ended his disastrous 11-month goal drought by netting against former club Swansea on Monday evening, and hopes there are plenty more to come while he is at the KC Stadium.

Speaking of his situation and future, Graham said: “It was Paolo [Di Canio] who sent me out on loan but I have not spoken to anyone at Sunderland including the new manager. Right now I am just concentrating on doing well for Hull because the manager showed a lot of faith in me since the moment I walked into the club.

“There’s always a danger of doubting yourself but he [Bruce] keeps reminding me how good a player I am even though I haven’t scored for a while. That makes a big difference and I want to repay him. I have got the goal and I hope we can put the drought to bed and move on.”

Bruce says he hopes to hang on to Graham for the rest of the season, but admits that the prerogative remains with Sunderland should they decide to recall him from his loan spell early.

He said: “Danny is on loan so if the parent club come and call him back then that’s their prerogative but let’s hope not. We want him here for the season.”
