Cardiff vs West Brom - Premier League preview and team news

By Stephen Donovan

Friday 13 December 2013

Two out-of-form teams meet on Saturday at the Cardiff City Stadium, as both look for a win which could see them move clear of the relegation zone.

Cardiff are just a point ahead of danger after a disappointing run which has seen them take only two points from five games since winning the Welsh derby at the beginning of November. Scoring goals is proving to be a problem for the Bluebirds, with only Crystal Palace - who defeated them comfortably in their previous game - having scored fewer than their current total of 11.

Defeat at home to Norwich City last time out will have set a few alarm bells ringing for West Bromwich Albion Head Coach Steve Clarke. Not only was it their third loss on the spin, but it left them just two points above the bottom three, after a hatful of chances went begging against the Canaries. That was their fourth home reverse already this campaign.

The home side once again have a fully-fit squad to choose from, as they look to pose more of threat than they did at Selhurst Park.

West Brom welcome back captain Jonas Olsson, after the Swede served a one-match ban for receiving five yellow cards. Ben Foster is still out, while Victor Anichebe is doubtful due to illness.
